Talented Julia Nunes recently won the Bushman World Ukulele Video Contest, sponsored by Bushman Ukuleles, Nashville, Indiana!
A first-year Skidmore student from the Rochester, N.Y., area, Julia has been singing and playing guitar and ukulele for four years. She released her first CD of original songs, the eponymous "Julia Nunes," in Summer 2005. Her second CD, "Left Right Wrong," hit the streets in Summer 2007. Julia is a great representative of the new ukulele player, non-traditional, technology- and Internet-savvy, a young woman confident in her music and her sense of humor.
